Yes — an active P.Eng license in Ontario is required for this role. We're looking for engineers who can stamp and take full ownership of their work. If you hold a P.Eng in another Canadian province and are willing to obtain Ontario licensure, we'd still love to hear from you.
Most of your week is spent working from a home office — performing structural calculations, preparing CAD drawings, and communicating with clients, contractors, and architects. You'll typically head out for site visits a few times per week within Toronto and the GTA to conduct inspections or review ongoing work.
It's hybrid — you work primarily from a home office, but must be available Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, and able to travel to sites across Toronto and the GTA as needed. You'll need a valid driver's license and access to your own vehicle for site visits.
The work is primarily residential — renovations, additions, new builds, and structural assessments. You'll handle load-bearing wall removals, beam and column sizing, foundation evaluations, retaining wall design, framing, timber frame design, and screw pile installation reviews.
